In this game you must cultivate and expand across southern Sardinia, building settlements to take advantage of the natural resources provided by the rich and fertile land.
Capoterra is a print and play tile based board game for 2 - 4 players. In this game players lay tiles forming the varied terrain of southern Sardinia. This terrain then yields resources (crop harvest, timber, rock and wool) which the player uses to build town and transports back to their regional capital via the road they build to trade for gold.
The game manual can be downloaded from:
Game Manual (manual.pdf - 828Kb)
All the files you need can be downloaded from the link below.
High-Res Game Components (capoterra.zip - 18.2MB)
Low-Res Game Components (low_res.zip - 2.54MB)
In addition to these files you will also need a number of playing pieces as follows:
- 1x 8 sided die
- 4x coloured city tokens (1 for each player)
- 20x coloured village tokens (5 for each player)
- 20x coloured soldier tokens (5 for each player)
- 12x coloured explorer tokens (3 for each player)
- 5x black bandit tokens
- Coloured resource tokens (would suggest upto 20 or 30 of each of the four colours)
When producing our own copy of the game we stuck coloured stickers to the sides of the dice, to give a dice with each of the four resource colours (red, yellow, green, blue) shown twice. We then drew a dot on four of the sides (1 of each colour) to indicate if an event card should be drawn that turn.
For the capital city tokens and village tokens we used the city and town tokens from The Settlers of Catan.
For the soldier and bandit tokens we used the meeple from Carcassonne. We used the explorer meeple from Carcassonne: The Discovery for our explorers.
For the resource tokens we ordered 50 of each of the four resources colours in 8mm blocks from Meeple People. This is also a good source for the soldiers, explorers and bandits if you don't own the Carcassonne games. Meeple People don't offer Carcassonne: The Discovery style meeple, but we would suggest just ordering additional normal meeple and then using a Sharpie or similiar to mark them as explorers.
To produce the tiles we suggest printing the 4 tile sheet images out on glossy photo paper and then spray mounting these to 200gsm card and then cutting out with a craft knife. For the action cards and player guides follow the same method, using 100-120gsm thin card instead.
